NMR1200 ad b40d6The INFRANALYTICS research infrastructure is pleased to announce that the 1,2 GHz NMR spectrometer manufactured by the Bruker company was received and put into service on its Lille site in September. 

 This 1,2 GHz NMR spectrometer is the seventh in the world to be installed and the first in France. It is also one of the first three in the world that will allow the characterization of inorganic and hybrid materials. This ultra-high field (28 T) NMR spectrometer includes a next-generation hybrid NMR magnet constructed from low- and high-temperature superconducting wires.

 

 

The spectrometer is installed in a new building specially constructed by the University of Lille. It is equipped with five probes:

  • two probes for studying solutions (a 3 mm iProbe BBI probe and a 3 mm TCI HCN cryoprobe);
  • three probes with magic-angle spinning (MAS) for the study of solids (a 3,2 mm double-resonance HX probe, a 1,3 mm double-resonance HX probe and a 0,7 mm 1H/13C/15N).

The INFRANALYTICS research infrastructure is currently carrying out tests, in order to prepare its opening in optimal conditions to academic and industrial users within the framework of INFRANALYTICS. We will keep you informed of the opening of this equipment to users.

As part of the 2015-2020 State-region plan contract, this instrument has received significant funding from the European Union, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the CNRS, the University of Lille , the Hauts-de-France region, the Nord department and the European Metropolis of Lille (MEL). This project is the result of close collaboration between the CNRS and the University of Lille, who together acted as project manager for the operation. The success of this operation was also made possible thanks to the involvement of many scientific, technical and administrative teams from the various partners in the project, and in particular those of INFRANALYTICS, the CNRS, the University of Lille and the companies Bruker and North France Constructions.  

We hope to be able to present to you the first results obtained with this new equipment during the INFRANALYTICS users' meeting in Marseille on Tuesday, November 22.

The increase in the magnetic field allows a substantial gain in terms of spectral resolution. The 200 MHz NMR spectrometer made it possible to better discriminate the AlO4 sites in this material.
